Venture Capital investment firm JPIN VCATS today announces the completion of a GBP1.5million raise to drive forward the development of the world’s largest investment corridor between the the UK and India. The investment has come from a group of Super Angels, renowned Family Offices and Institutional Investors from the UK, India, Europe, Africa and the Middle East in a raise that spans a global ecosystem of investors. JPIN VCATS will look at backing growth to Series D rounds.
A key tenet of this startup support is the drive to provide investment and growth for firms across the regions of the UK, and help them expand in addition to the ‘golden triangle’ of investment between London, Oxford and Cambridge. With operations in 40+ cities in India, JPIN VCATS is looking to connect all the major business hubs of India with their counterparts in the UK, something that is currently missing, which will boost both economic growth and the strength of startup ecosystems. This focus will support the UK Government’s drive to ‘level up’ the regions by providing investment and support.
With over 100-plus investments last year in the group, through this UK expansion, JPIN VCATS will look to considerably increase that number, allowing both UK firms to expand into India and vice versa. It aims to engage and grow the investment community by additional 500 members aggressively across family offices, VCs, institutional investors and angels this year.
Gaurav Singh, co-founder of JPIN VCATS, says: “We are incredibly excited to close this fundraising round which will allow JPIN to continue in the role of the largest player in startup investments between the UK and India. We want to unify the UK and make every region a really attractive destination for investment. To do this, identifying passionate entrepreneurs across every city and region in the UK is of the utmost importance.”
Nayan Gala, co-founder of JPIN VCATS, says: “Encouraging investment from India into the UK and vice versa requires not only an in-depth knowledge of both markets but also a board of advisors and due diligence of the highest calibre. This is something we have worked hard at JPIN for over a decade to build expertise and the network. The investment will really allow us to take JPIN VCATS to the next level in terms of uniting strategic investors with startups.”
