In the newly created role, Landau will lead Adams Street’s efforts to develop innovative product solutions that meet the evolving needs of the firm’s clients. He will be based in Adams Street’s New York office and will report to Jim Walker, Chief Operating Officer.

“We welcome Steve to Adams Street and are confident his experience and strategic thinking will help us better serve the needs of our current and future clients,” says Jeff Diehl, Managing Partner and Head of Investments at Adams Street. “Adams Street has expanded its investment strategies over the past several years, and Steve’s addition to our firm will help us match our capabilities to the increasingly sophisticated and unique needs of our clients.”

Landau has more than 20 years of investment management experience with a focus on product development and M&A, including 15 years developing and launching a range of alternative investment products and private markets strategies. Before joining Adams Street, he was Head of Product Development at FS Investments, a USD20 billion alternative asset manager.

Prior to that, Landau was Head of Product Development and Alternative Investment Business Development at New York Life Investment Management where he led product innovation for the multi-boutique investment platform across traditional and alternative strategies. Before New York Life, he worked at Morgan Stanley Investment Management, where he was responsible for product development and management for alternative investments.

Earlier, Landau served as Director of Product Development at UBS Global Asset Management. He began his career at the Republic National Bank of New York as a fund manager and a trader.

“I am honoured to join the Adams Street team and work with such high calibre professionals and clients,” says Landau. “I look forward to collaborating across teams to ensure that Adams Street’s product offerings align with the private markets needs of our global clients.”

Landau is a CFA charterholder, and holds an MBA from the Wharton School at the University of Pennsylvania and a Bachelor of Science in Finance from the Sy Syms School of Business at Yeshiva University. Landau is a member of the Orthodox Union Investment Committee.
