Advent International and Fisher Investments have denied that they are in deal talks after the Wall Street Journal reported that the US private equity firm was negotiating to acquire the money management company, according to a report by Reuters.
The report cites an Advent spokesperson as telling Reuters that the PE firm is not buying Fisher Investments, while Fisher has dismissed the All Street Journal report, which was based on information form an unnamed source, as “false”.
“Fisher Investments is not being bought by Advent International, or anyone else – plain and simple,” Fisher Investments said in a statement.
According to its website, Fisher Investments, which was founded by billionaire Ken Fisher and manages money for individuals and institutional investors had over $236bn of assets under management, as of the end of December 2023.
