Advent International has appointed Patricia Cross, AM as an Operating Partner for its Australia and New Zealand business, strengthening its senior advisory capabilities across the region as it continues to expand its portfolio support function.
Cross brings more than four decades of experience across financial services, including senior executive and board roles in wealth management, asset management, and corporate and institutional banking. In her new role, she will work closely with Advent’s investment teams and portfolio company leadership to support governance, strategy, and long-term value creation.
Based in Sydney, Cross has held numerous high-profile board positions across both Australia and the UK. She currently serves as Chair of OFX and as a non-executive director at Transurban. She also previously served on the board of Future Fund and has held past directorships at major listed companies including Macquarie Group, National Australia Bank, AMP Limited, Qantas, Wesfarmers and Aviva.
Advent said the appointment reflects its continued investment in operational expertise, with more than 145 Operating Partners and Advisors globally supporting portfolio companies across sectors including financial services, healthcare, technology, and industrials.
The firm highlighted Cross’s international background and governance experience as particularly relevant at a time when financial services businesses are navigating structural change and increasing regulatory and competitive pressures.
The move forms part of Advent International’s broader strategy of deepening sector expertise and strengthening hands-on operational support for its portfolio companies across key global markets.
