Aequitas Capital Partners (ACP), a division of Aequitas Capital's wealth management platform, has hired four new regional directors.
"For ACP, 2014 was a year of notable accomplishments, including the successful launch of our unit, followed by an overwhelming response from the growth-oriented RIA marketplace. To date, 43 firms have adopted our platform and become members of our network, with three qualifiers to our exclusive, invitation-only Quarter Club," says Bob Jesenik, Aequitas CEO.
"That growth is a testament to how much our services resonate among RIAs. We have now doubled our staff to provide additional support and resources to RIAs and wealth advisors who want to accelerate firm growth through access to intellectual, financial, and human capital," adds Brian Rice, President of Aequitas' Wealth Management Division.
The new hires are:
• Todd Nelson, Southeast Regional Director. Nelson has more than 13 years of financial services industry experience. He most recently served as the Regional Marketing Director at 3D Asset Management, where he worked to market third-party investment strategies in the independent broker-dealer and RIA channels, and to distribute ETF portfolios for managed account and retirement plan clients.
• James Kenney, Northwest Regional Director. Kenney brings several years of financial advisory and client-facing experience to the team at ACP. Previously, he served as a wholesaler for Natixis Global Asset Management, where he was responsible for managing and developing relationships, as well as generating and increasing sales in new and existing territories.
• Whit Whitehouse, Southwest Regional Director. Whitehouse brings more than 20 years of experience as an industry veteran. He has predominantly held sales and management roles with financial institutions such as Fidelity, Citigroup and Wells Fargo. Most recently, Whitehouse held a director position at Washington Wealth Management where he oversaw the management and development of retail offices for national hybrid investment advisory firms.
• Bill Hennessey, Northeast Regional Director. Hennessey brings more than 17 years of experience. Most recently, Hennessey was a Relationship Manager with Charles Schwab Advisor Services where he built strong and loyal partnerships with RIAs by consulting on trends in the industry including technology, compliance, investment products, business development, and succession planning.
In addition, Tammy Wood has been promoted to Vice President of Sales. Wood has been active in the investment management industry for more than 25 years, having worked with corporate retirement plan sponsors as well as non-profit foundations and endowments and high-net-worth individuals in both relationship management and new business development roles. While developing and maintaining relationships, she worked on many consultative projects developing investment policy statements, asset/fund allocation recommendations, and presenting imperative information to Investment Committees, Boards of Directors, and others critical to the investment planning and management process.
"We've covered the country now from the Northwest to the Southwest, and from the Northeast to the Southeast, with regional directors in the field who can meet and consult with clients and partners," says Rice. "We are preparing for expansion of the ACP network in 2015."
