Akin has appointed Payson Lyman as Partner in the firm’s Boston office. Lyman, whose practice focuses on hybrid capital, preferred equity and other equity capital solutions, joins from Kirkland & Ellis, where he was also Partner.
Lyman also advises private equity sponsors in complex domestic and cross-border business transactions, including mergers and acquisitions, leveraged buyouts, divestitures, carve-outs, recapitalisations and general corporate matters.
This year, Akin has made appointments across the firm’s corporate practice, including private credit partners Bill Brady and Scott Colton and real estate partner Avi Feinberg in New York; private equity partner Andrew Lehman, energy transactions partners Ian Goldberg and Trent Bridges as well as capital markets partner Bryan Flannery in Houston; and energy partner Rob Butler in London.
