Alantra Private Equity has appointed Javier Pijoan and Chema Fernández as Operating Partners, specialising in Sales & Marketing, and Digital Transformation, respectively.
Pijoan has more than 25 years of experience in Consumer and Food, having developed his professional career in national and international groups such as Heineken, where he has been a member of the European Executive Committee, Bacardi Limited, where he has been General Manager of Iberia, and Carrefour Group, among others. Ne will support the management teams of Alantra Private Equity’s portfolio companies in the definition of the commercial strategy, in the implementation and monitoring of the distribution and sales processes and in the definition and execution of internationalisation plans, a priority growth lever for Alantra Private Equity’s projects.
Fernández has extensive experience in digitalisation and technology projects for leading companies such as Openbank, Telefónica, Havas and El Corte Inglés, where he held the position of Chief Transformation Officer. He will support Alantra Private Equity’s portfolio companies in digital transformation projects, development of business lines based on e-commerce and development of technological infrastructures.
Additionally, Pijoan and Fernández will support the team in the origination and analysis of new investment opportunities. Pijoan will focus on Consumer and Food, a key vertical for Alantra Private Equity, as demonstrated by the five investments made in the current fund, Alantra PEF III: Surexport, Frías Nutrición, Hiperbaric, Unión Martín and Monbake. Fernández meanwhile, will bring his extensive experience in the technology sector to reinforce the investment activity in technology companies, another key vertical where Alantra Private Equity has already completed three investments through its current fund, Alantra PEF III: SALTO Systems, Health in Code and Grupo Ingenium Tecnología.
