Alvarez & Marsal (A&M), a professional services firm, has appointed Mike Trenouth as a managing director for its expanding European private equity practice in London.
Trenouth’s (pictured) appointment comes against the backdrop of an increasingly complex and competitive deal environment in Europe, where there is rising demand for a differentiated approach to creating value both pre- and post-deal.
Trenouth will draw upon his 24 years’ experience in both due diligence and operational performance improvement to build on A&M’s through-the-cycle offering, allowing clients to better address a shifting and dynamic market in Europe.
Trenouth’s primary areas of focus are operational due diligence, 100-day planning, and post- acquisition support. Prior to joining A&M, Trenouth spent eight years as a partner with LEK Consulting in London where he led a number of operational due diligence projects for both private equity and corporate clients.
Prior to LEK, Trenouth was a director at iForce, a UK e-commerce logistics provider. Prior to iForce, Trenouth spent 10 years building the operational consulting business Celerant.
Scott Pinfield, managing director at Alvarez & Marsal and co-head of the private equity performance improvement practice in London, says: “Mike’s experience will help us to further develop our services to private equity firms as they seek to deliver value to their investors in an extremely tough deal-making environment. He has a proven track record in implementing complex transaction and performance improvement programmes which plays perfectly to our integrated service offering.”
Trenouth says: “Alvarez & Marsal’s operational bench-strength sets it apart from other industry players. I look forward to working with clients in the private equity community to help them tackle the operational issues that must be addressed in order to create value in this challenging market.”
