Boston-based HarbourVest Partners has announced that Amanda McCrystal has joined the firm as head of investor relations and communications for closed-ended fund HarbourVest Global Private Equity.
She will be responsible for managing relationships with investors and prospective investors.
HarbourVest Global Private Equity is a closed-end investment company listed on Euronext Amsterdam and managed by HarbourVest Advisers, an affiliate of HarbourVest Partners.
The fund aims to offer shareholders long-term capital appreciation by investing in a private equity portfolio diversified by geography, stage of investment, vintage year, and industry. It is the only means to access HarbourVest’s investment strategy through a publicly-traded vehicle.
"We are delighted that Amanda has joined us," says George Anson, a director of HarbourVest Global Private Equity and a managing director of HarbourVest. "Amanda’s knowledge and experience in investor relations will prove invaluable to HVPE and our shareholders, especially in the current environment."
McCrystal will be based in London, at the firm’s U. subsidiary. In addition to her primary responsibilities for the listed fund, her role will include investor relations for HarbourVest’s private funds and European client base.
McCrystal joins HarbourVest from Bramdean Asset Management, the private equity and alternative asset manager headed by Nicola Horlick, where she was head of investor relations, marketing and communications. While at Bramdean she was actively involved in the listing of Bramdean Alternatives as well as the company’s investor, analyst, and media relations.
She earlier worked in the media industry in public relations consulting, interactive television, and print journalism. She began her career at SG Warburg Group in the bond trading team at SG Warburg Securities and then in the UK equities team at Mercury Asset Management, before becoming a financial journalist for the Evening Standard in London.
