Ambienta, a European asset manager entirely focused on environmental sustainability, has appointed private equity industry veteran Jérôme Losson as partner and head of portfolio operations, private quity.
Losson joins the firm with more than 30 years of experience across consulting, direct management and private equity, with deep expertise in value creation, operational transformation and digital initiatives, including artificial intelligence enablement and cybersecurity. Most notably, he was instrumental in establishing KKR Capstone in Europe – one of the pioneering portfolio operations platforms in the private equity industry – as a member of its leadership team for close to a decade. He later served as a Partner and a Managing Partner at BC Partners having started his professional career outside academia at McKinsey.
Ambienta oversees a highly diversified global private equity platform, with investments comprising more than 130 manufacturing sites, employing over 10,000 people across four continents. The firm’s continued growth has increased the scale, diversity and complexity of its portfolio, which spans businesses with different cycles, priorities and supply chains, all operating in a global context.
In a press statement, Ambient said that Losson’s appointment represents a “significant step-up in capabilities as the firm evolves towards a “Portfolio Management 2.0” approach: more integrated, data-driven and focused on scaling performance across an increasingly complex and growing platform”.
This includes strengthening operational excellence, enhancing supply chain resilience, accelerating digital transformation and AI adoption, and supporting portfolio companies in capturing growth opportunities linked to environmental sustainability.
At Ambienta, Losson will be responsible for portfolio operations across all companies in which the firm has invested, across asset classes, working closely with investment teams and management to enhance performance, accelerate growth initiatives and further embed operational best practices.
