Ametek is engaged in exclusive discussions to acquire the testing and measurement division of Indicor, a portfolio company of private equity firm Clayton Dubilier & Rice, at a potential valuation of $5bn, according to a report by Reuters.
The potential transaction reflects continued appetite for high-quality industrial technology assets. The report cites unnamed sources as indicating that negotiations are ongoing, with a deal possible in the coming weeks, although there is no certainty an agreement will be reached.
Indicor, which specialises in valves and pumps, has attracted interest for its testing and measurement operations, a segment seen as strategically aligned with Ametek’s existing capabilities.
Neither Ametek nor Clayton Dubilier & Rice have publicly commented on the reported talks.
