Andrew Bishop to join Alinda

Andrew Bishop, a managing director in power, utilities and infrastructure investment banking at Goldman Sachs in London, is to join infrastructure fund manager Alinda Capital Partners.

 
Bishop has over 12 years of investment banking experience, most recently with Goldman Sachs, whom he joined at the beginning of 2008. He will become a managing director at Alinda and will be based in Alinda’s London office, where he will spearhead principal investment activity in core infrastructure assets in Europe. He will join Alinda in April.
 
Alinda managing partner, Chris Beale, said, "We are excited about Andrew joining us. With his extensive experience and wide ranging contacts, he will enhance our investing activities in Europe."
 
Bishop joins Alinda partner Simon Riggall, Patrick Bastien, director, Per Kjellgren, director, and other professionals in Alinda’s London office. Bastien, who joined Alinda in 2011, had previously worked Prior to joining Alinda, he held positions at Veolia Energy North America, Dalkia plc and GDF Suez.
 
Alinda is one of the world’s largest investors in infrastructure, with $7.4 billion of funds under management. Alinda’s investors are predominantly pension funds for government and private sector workers in the US, Europe, Canada, Asia and Australia, and include some of the world’s largest institutional investors.
 
Investment funds managed by Alinda own two water utilities in the UK, South Staffordshire Water and Cambridge Water. Cambridge Water was acquired from HSBC in October 2011. Alinda’s managing partner, Chris Beale, joined the board of BAA Limited in October 2011 following a purchase by Alinda’s funds of shares in BAA from Ferrovial. Alinda has also invested in inland container terminals in the Netherlands and biogas production facilities in Germany, and has extensive infrastructure investments in the United States and Canada.
