Apollo Global Management has appointed Brian Chu as Partner and Head of Apollo Portfolio Performance Solutions (APPS), the firm’s dedicated in-house platform focused on driving operational value creation across its global private equity portfolio, according to a report by Private Equity Insights.
Chu brings over 20 years of experience in private equity and operational leadership, most recently serving as Senior Managing Director and Co-Head of Portfolio Operations at Centerbridge Partners. His prior experience includes senior roles at Bain Capital, with a focus on technology and operations-led transformation.
At Apollo, Chu will lead a 35-person team comprising operating partners and functional experts tasked with accelerating performance initiatives across the firm’s portfolio companies. APPS focuses on digital transformation, artificial intelligence deployment, supply chain efficiency, and commercial excellence as core value levers.
Aaron Miller, who has led APPS since 2019, will transition to Chairman of the platform and continue to support strategic projects until his planned retirement at the end of 2026.
As of 31 March 2025, Apollo managed approximately $785bn in assets under management across alternative strategies, underscoring its significant scale and presence in the global private equity landscape.
