Asterion Industrial Partners, a Spanish infrastructure investment firm, along with Telefónica, has agreed to sell Nabiax, a Spanish data centre operator, to European asset manager Aermont Capital, according to report by Reuters citing a joint statement released on Monday.
Although the financial terms have not been disclosed, the report cites unnamed sources as suggesting that the deal values Nabiax at approximately €1bn ($1.07bn).
Nabiax operates two data centres in Madrid and one in Barcelona, with a total installed capacity of 35 megawatts. Asterion holds an 80% stake in Nabiax, while Telefónica owns the remaining 20%.
Asterion initially established Nabiax in 2019 by acquiring 11 data centres from Telefónica across Spain and Latin America. Last year, it sold Nabiax’s Latin American operations to the British infrastructure fund Actis, shifting focus to the Spanish market.
