Aston Ventures forecasts change in investor appetite towards PE

Aston Ventures – the independent fund manager – is forecasting a change in investor appetite towards private equity…

Tim Eve (pictured), partner at Aston Ventures – investment adviser to the KHG Private Equity Fund – says: “Investors and managers have been more open to alternative investments in light of recent market conditions. The GAIM conference provides an ideal opportunity for these types of investments to be showcased and discussed.
“The KHG Private Equity Fund moves away from the more traditional private equity funds. It’s open-ended, has quarterly dealing dates and caters for wholesale and private investors. We are targeting small to medium-sized enterprises, as these often provide the greatest potential for growth and return on investment. We’re delighted to show that the UK is at the forefront of alternative investment solutions.”
The private equity fund is part of the KHG Fund range and managed by Creechurch Capital, the Isle of Man-based boutique investment company.
John Greenwood – chief executive of Creechurch Capital, which manages the KHG Private Equity Fund – said: “We’re confident that the KHG Private Equity Fund will be attractive to many investors and advisers at GAIM who are seeking returns over the medium to long-term. Our focus is on high-quality businesses and the acquisition structures will be equity-led, ensuring the businesses aren’t overly burdened with debt.
“We welcome investment from major institutions, but we’re also very pleased to be able to provide private investors with access to an alternative asset class that has usually been out of their reach.”
A significant feature of the Fund is that it has a minimum investment subscription level of £10,000, giving individual investors the opportunity to invest in a private equity fund. Tim Eve continued: “We’re also looking to make private equity investment a little more inclusive. With the potential for high returns, it’s an area that investors would be well advised to consider.”
