Axa Winterthur Wealth Management is offering Longbow Capital’s Sipp venture fund through The One from Winterthur.

Longbow is a venture investor in the area of healthcare, life sciences and wellbeing, which it says are not only less affected by a worsening economic environment, but are also growth areas. For example, as people live longer, the healthcare providers must seek better treatments for patients.

The Sipp venture fund invests directly into innovative, effective and cost efficient health treatments, providing capital and development support to help turn technology solutions into commercial successes. Investments made by Longbow include software for the visualisation of medical images in three dimensions for use by radiologists and for clinical trials, and devices to help improve women’s insight into their breast health.

The single structure of The One from Winterthur allows investors to choose from a range of insured funds from Winterthur’s Elite fund of funds and Tailored Selection range, collectives, shares and commercial property without having to change policies.

David Thompson, managing director, sales and marketing, Axa Winterthur Wealth Management, says: ‘An allocation to venture investment is particularly useful in the early to middle years of a Sipp’s life where timeframes are long and growth is sought. We are delighted to be able to offer this Longbow fund through The One from Winterthur.’

Julian Hickman, Longbow partner (pictured), adds: ‘Axa Winterthur has been long renowned for its Sipp expertise and capability. I am pleased that it has added the Longbow fund to its range of funds.’

Longbow Capital recently launched two healthcare enterprise investment scheme funds aimed at investors who wish to profit from continued innovation and investment in healthcare, and who want their investment supported by a powerful set of tax breaks.
