Fund placement agent and secondary transactions advisor AXON Partners has appointed William Gilmore as a partner in the firm’s UK office.
Gilmore, who joins as a Partner/Head of Origination, is an industry veteran having spent the last 18 years in manager selection most recently as Head of Primary Funds Europe at Aberdeen Standard Investments (formerly Aberdeen Asset Management and Scottish Widows Investment Partnership). Gilmore led a diverse multinational team of eight direct reports responsible for all aspects of sourcing, executing and monitoring investments in European private equity funds. He also played a key leadership role as the business went through a period of significant organisational change. Prior to his career at Aberdeen, Gilmore, who is a Chartered Accountant, was an Investment Director at Murray Johnstone where for 10 years he invested directly in UK lower mid-market buyout and growth capital transactions.
