Bain Capital’s special situations fund for the Asia-Pacific region has closed with capital commitments of $2 billion, in excess of its $1.5 billion target, according to a report by Private Equity Insights.
The fund, Bain’s second Asia-focused strategy, will invest in a range of asset types but will have a particular focus on real estate.
Barnaby Lyons, one of the investment firm’s managing directors, says Bain now has $5 billion of capital to invest in the region across debt capital structures, structured capital deals, distressed assets, physical assets and growth equity transactions.
