Management consultancy Bain & Co has appointed Tom De Waele to lead its business across Europe, the Middle East, and Africa, according to a report by Bloomberg. De Waele has experience advising Middle Eastern companies on growth, M&A, and private equity.
He assumed the role on 26 January and will be based in London, having been based in Dubai as the firm’s managing partner for the Middle East. He has spent more than two decades at Bain, having earlier worked with clients across Germany, France, Belgium and the UK.
The appointment follows a series of leadership changes in Europe. In January, Bain named Clare Gordon to lead its UK business, succeeding James Hadley, who had held the role since 2020.
De Waele succeeds Domenico Azzarello, who led the EMEA region for seven years. During Azzarello’s tenure, the consultancy reported double-digit growth across the region and expanded through a number of acquisitions.
