Baird Capital, the global private equity and venture capital arm of Baird, has appointed Daina Spedding as a Director with the firm’s Global Private Equity team based in London to focus on sourcing and driving PE investments globally.
Spedding joins Baird Capital from BGF, where she was an investor and has been leading deal teams since 2019. In this role, she was responsible for deal sourcing and execution, coaching and mentoring more junior investors, alongside board roles in the investee companies to help them scale operations.
She was also a driving force behind the firm’s Diversity Action Group, which helped BGF become the most active institutional growth investor in female-founded scaleups in the UK for four years running. Before BGF, she was a Private Equity Investor at Blue Coast Capital for nearly ten years.
Spedding holds the Chartered Financial Analyst designation and earned a Master of Science degree in Strategic Management from EDHEC Business School in France. She earned her Bachelor of Science degree in Economics from the Stockholm School of Economics in Riga, Latvia. She has additional Executive Training from the London Business School, focusing on Mergers & Acquisitions.
