BC Partners agrees €800m acquisition of Italy’s Fortidia

BC Partners has agreed to acquire a majority stake in Italian shipping, fulfilment and marketing services group Fortidia, in a transaction valuing the business at around €800m, according to a report by Bloomberg.

The buyout firm is purchasing the stake from Fortidia’s founding Fiorelli family and investment firm Oaktree Capital Management. Fortidia Chairman and Chief Executive Paolo Fiorelli will retain a significant holding and continue to lead the business.

The deal marks the first investment from BC Partners Fund XII and builds on the firm’s exposure to route-based services, following investments in areas including environmental services and security.

Founded in 1993 and headquartered in Milan, Fortidia operates a franchise-led model serving micro, small and medium-sized enterprises across Europe. Its portfolio of brands includes Mail Boxes Etc, AlphaGraphics, World Options, and PostNet. BC Partners said it plans to accelerate Fortidia’s international expansion and pursue growth through acquisitions.
