BC Partners has raised approximately €2.2bn ($2.5bn) in initial commitments for its latest flagship vehicle, Fund XII, putting the firm nearly halfway to its target of €5bn, according to a report by Bloomberg citing unnamed sources familiar with the matter.
The buyout firm aims to complete fundraising for Fund XII by the end of 2026 or early 2027, although timing and fund size could shift depending on market conditions. BC Partners has reportedly not commented on the fundraising.
Investor interest in European private equity has strengthened amid ongoing volatility in US markets, with mid-market firms particularly well-positioned to attract capital thanks to clearer exit prospects. Since 2023, BC Partners’ funds and co-investors have generated roughly €18bn in equity value.
Fund XII has already made its first acquisition, taking a stake in Fortidia, a logistics platform based in Italy. The transaction involved purchasing shares from the founding Fiorelli family and Oaktree Capital Management, marking the firm’s continued expansion in European logistics.
