British Columbia Investment Management has appointed Jon Salon as global head of private equity, based in New York. He succeeds Jim Pittman, who will leave the organisation at the end of the month, according to a report by Bloomberg.
Salon joined BCI in 2024 after leading MDLive, a subsidiary of Cigna Group’s Evernorth Health Services. He previously spent around 15 years as a founding partner at buyout firm Bedford Funding.
During his tenure, Pittman has expanded BCI’s private equity platform to CAD36bn from CAD7bn, while broadening its investment strategy and extending its international presence with offices in New York and London. BCI manages the retirement assets of British Columbia’s public sector workers and reported CAD251.6bn in net assets as of 31 March.
