British Columbia Investment Management Corp (BCI) has named Ken Bennett as a strategic adviser for its private equity program, with immediate effect, with a focus on enhancing long-term value creation across BCI Private Equity’s global portfolio.
Based in St John’s, Newfoundland and Labrador, Bennett will work closely with management teams and strategic partners to support growth and operational improvement initiatives.
In conjunction with the appointment, Bennett has joined the board of BMS Group, a BCI-backed specialty insurance and reinsurance broker headquartered in London.
Bennett previously served as president of Johnson Insurance and Assurance Company for 15 years.
BCI is one of Canada’s largest institutional investors, managing CAD295bn in assets as of 31 March, 2025.
