BDO ranks top in M&A league table

A strong performance in mergers and acquisitions in the first half of 2013 by the corporate finance arm of BDO LLP pushed the firm up to first and second place respectively in the Experian Corpfin and Thompson Reuters league tables, ranking advisers to UK deals by volume.

BDO moved from third to first place in the Experian Corpfin league table of financial advisers on deals with any UK involvement. The firm also moved up from fifth to second place in the Thomson Reuters 2013 rankings of financial advisers to UK deals worth less than USD500m.
In each case, the number of deals that were included in the league table (44 and 32 respectively), placed the firm ahead of many of the world’s largest investment banks.
Jamie Austin, M&A partner and head of London, says: “This is a great result in volatile markets where deal volumes remain subdued.
“We believe that our focus on particular sectors, long track record of advising entrepreneurs and excellent relationships which we have built up with the private equity community are bearing fruit. This is resulting in an encouraging diversity of deals being completed, both in terms of type and industry.”
