BGF has appointed Indro Mukerjee to its Deep Tech & Climate Advisory Board, a high-level group of experts chaired by Baroness Brown of Cambridge, which plays a pivotal role in shaping the firm’s strategy in the evolving deep tech sector.
Established in 2022, the Board provides critical analysis on opportunities, scaling challenges, and market trends, with the aim of ensuring that BGF remains at the forefront of investing in transformational technologies that address some of the world’s most pressing challenges.
Mukerjee is a highly experienced business leader, with CEO experience across technology and industrial businesses from multinationals to startups and private equity-backed ventures. With a global career spanning Asia, the US, and Europe, Mukerjee has led innovation, fast growth, spinouts, M&A, and business transformation across many different business situations. He has been strongly committed to supporting skills development, including co-founding and chairing the UK Electronics Skills Foundation.
He also has significant public sector leadership experience, having been CEO of Innovate UK, the UK’s innovation agency, for three-and-a-half years to September 2024.
Mukerjee joins a line-up of prominent board members including Juliet Davenport OBE, founder of Good Energy and a champion of renewable energy innovation, and Laura Sandys CBE, a leading climate scientist and energy policy expert.
