BGF has appointed Anita Dougall to its board as non-executive director. Dougall is CEO of Sagacity Solutions, a data intelligence business for consumer brands, a business she co-founded in 2005. Her experience in scaling and leading a high-growth business adds to the board’s entrepreneurial expertise, following the appointment of Non-Executive Director Rosaleen Blair CME, founder of AMS Solutions, in 2024.
In 2025, Anita Dougall and Sagacity Solutions were ranked second in The Independent E2E Forum’s 100 fastest-growing female-led businesses in the UK, which recognises female-led or founded companies based on their growth rates over the past three years, underscoring her experience of building and scaling a high-performing, data-led business.
Prior to founding Sagacity, she held senior roles in investment banking at NatWest Markets and within One2One (now EE), where she led credit strategy. BGF will look to utilise Dougall’s background in scaling a technology-led business and navigating complex, regulated sectors, as the company continues to invest in digital transformation and AI-driven innovation – unlocking value and operational efficiencies both internally and across BGF’s portfolio of over 350 businesses.
As part of the board update, Alice Avis MBE will step down as non-executive director in April 2026, following a 10-year tenure. Dougall’s appointment follows BGF’s recent pledge to deploy £3bn to high-potential British businesses over the next five years, of which at least £300m will be dedicated to female-powered businesses.
