Private investment giant Blackstone has appointed Michele Raba, previously head of European Private Equity at Apollo Global Management, to lead its European corporate private equity business, according to a report by Reuters.
Raba, who will assume the role in April 2026, succeeds Lionel Assant, who has been promoted to Global Co-Chief Investment Officer. Based in London, Raba will oversee operations in a region where Blackstone currently manages more than $350bn in assets and aims to deploy over $500bn across the next decade.
Blackstone’s Global Head of Private Equity, Joseph Baratta, said Europe remains “core” to the firm’s investment strategy as it looks to build on its strong local presence and growth momentum.
The firm recently reported total assets under management of $1.24tn.
