Blisce backs well-being startup Wecasa

Transatlantic growth-stage venture capital fund Blisce has led a EUR15 million round into home help and well-being services startup Wesaca, with participation from existing investors Serena and ISAI, as well as the co-founder of BlaBlaCar, Frédéric Mazzella.

Wecasa offers ‘mobile wellness, beauty, and care services seven days a week, for you, your family, and your home.’ “Given the current context, it is essential to take time for oneself and to be able to count on talented home professionals,” said Antoine Chatelain, CEO and co-founder of Wecasa.

The startup will use the fresh capital to accelerate its international expansion following its London launch in April. “After quickly becoming the leader in the French market, we are giving ourselves two years to become the leader in the UK and in two additional European countries where we will be launching next year,” explained Chatelian.

Launched in 2017 by the five co-founders Pierre André, Antoine Chatelain, Anne-Emilie Prévot, Fabien Nendaz and Julien Lestavel, Wesaca initially specialised in hairdressing, followed by massage and beauty services in 2017 and housekeeping in 2018. The platform recently added babysitting and sports coaching services at home in order to meet growing demand.

The company said it will also continue to grow its services in France, with a goal of recruiting 3,000 additional professionals by the end of the year and 7,000 more by 2022, as Wecasa and its partners believe that self-employment and the demand for assistance and wellness services are global trends that affect all consumers.

Founded by Alexandre Mars in 2014, Blisce is co-headquartered in New York and Paris, investing actively across the US and Europe in high growth companies including Spotify, Pinterest, Headspace, Too Good To Go, Brut. and Imperfect Foods. As a team, Blisce has decided to donate 20 percent of its profits to charity.
