BNY Mellon appoints Eamon Burns as EMEA regional head of private equity accounting

BNY Mellon has appointed Eamon Burns as its new regional head of private equity accounting for Europe, Middle East and Africa (EMEA) within the company’s asset servicing business.

Burns will report to Caoimhghin O’Donnell, managing director, head of AIS (alternative investment services) fund accounting – EMEA, and will be based in Dublin.

He joins from State Street and will lead the BNY Mellon’s team of specialists in Dublin and Luxembourg, servicing private equity administration clients throughout the EMEA region.

Prior to State Street, Burns worked at Goldman Sachs for 11 years where he was responsible for management of all aspects of fund accounting for many of the company’s top tier private equity fund clients.

“Custodians are steadily enhancing their services to meet the bespoke needs of private equity managers as new regulations compel them to take a fresh look at their operational models,” says Carol Andrews, head of AIS EMEA service delivery, BNY Mellon in Dublin. “We believe we’ll see more private equity houses seeking alternative solutions from fund administrators over the next two years. Eamon will play a key role in ensuring BNY Mellon is the first port of call for those managers, freeing them to focus on delivering returns for their investors.”
