Bowmark Capital exits Focus Group investment to Hg

Mid-market private equity firm Bowmark Capital has agreed to realise its investment in Focus Group, a UK provider of business technology to SMEs, to software-focused private equity firm Hg.

The transaction is subject to regulatory approval.

Focus Group was founded in 2003 by Ralph Gilbert and Chris Goodman, providing digital workplace solutions to approximately 30,000 SME customers.

Since Bowmark invested in Focus Group in 2020, the company has more than trebled its revenues, expanded its range of technology solutions and broadened its UK coverage, according to a press release. This was supported by organic growth and the completion of 21 acquisitions.

Focus Group and Bowmark were advised by Houlihan Lokey, Osborne Clarke and PwC. Hg was advised by Arma Partners, Linklaters and EY.
