Private equity firm Bridgepoint Group is exploring a potential sale of portfolio company Humanetics Group that could value the safety systems technology specialist at around $1.5bn, according to a report by Reuters.
The report cites unnamed sources familiar with the matter as revealing that London-based Bridgepoint has appointed investment bank Evercore Inc to advise Humanetics on the sale process with interest expected from both strategic and private equity buyers.
According top the sources, Humanetics is expecting to command a valuation equivalent to over 15 times its 12-month earnings before interest, tax, depreciation, and amortisation (EBITDA) of nearly $90m. Bridgepoint bought Humanetics from Golden Gate Capital in 2018 and has continued to grow the business through acquisitions.
Humanetics acquired laser processing equipment maker OpTek Systems in 2019, and two design software makers Human Solutions and Avalution, in 2021.
