Bruce Cohen named head of Kurt Salmon’s private equity and strategy practice

Management consulting firm Kurt Salmon has named Bruce Cohen, a senior partner in its retail and consumer products group, as head of its private equity and strategy practice.

In his more than 20 years of consulting experience in the retail and consumer products industry, Cohen – whose new title is in addition to his role as North American practice director – has worked with private equity sponsors, executives and boards on due diligence, mergers and acquisitions, and on developing and implementing strategies to drive profitable growth.

His clients span the private equity industry, from the largest funds globally to those in the middle market, and include leading manufacturers, distributors, operators and retailers as well.

"I am very excited to lead our dedicated team of private equity and strategy specialists; our deep industry insights combined with our strong analytical approach uniquely position us to assist our clients in evaluating investment opportunities or developing pragmatic growth strategies," says Cohen. "Moreover, I remain optimistic about increased deal activity in the retail and consumer products sector, while the ever-shifting consumer landscape provides openings for corporations eager to craft new growth strategies."

Cohen joined Kurt Salmon in 2000 from Swander Pace & Company, a strategy consulting firm focused on the consumer products industry. He also previously worked for The Cypress Fund, a private equity firm that invests in consumer industries, and was a consultant with Bain & Company. He is regularly quoted in leading media and frequently speaks at top industry conferences.

Madison Riley, managing partner of Kurt Salmon's retail and consumer products group, says: "Bruce is an exceptionally gifted leader and his dedication to delivering results to our private equity and strategy clients is unparalleled. We are thrilled that he will be leading this team's efforts going forward."
