Brunswick top PR adviser to global M&A by value

Brunswick Group maintained its lead at the top of the global mergers and acquisitions league tables by value, with a USD82bn lead over second placed Joele Frank Wilkinson Brimmer Katcher, according to a report by mergermarket.

Brunswick advised on 131 deals worth a total of USD224bn. FD advised on 25 more deals than Brunswick, taking the firm to the top of the league tables by volume.

Herbert Smith/Gleiss Lutz/ Stibbe was the most active PR adviser within the emerging markets, advising on 20 transactions worth a total of USD65.1bn. Cleary Gottlieb Steen & Hamilton followed with USD 53.4bn from 21 deals. AZB & Partners was the most active PR firm by deal count.

Brunswick Group topped the league tables by value in Europe for Q1-Q3 2010, with 102 deals worth a total of USD203bn. FD was Europe’s most active adviser with 110 deals worth USD74bn. Brunswick was just eight deals behind FD, taking second place by volume.

In the US, Joele Frank Wilkinson Brimmer Katcher topped the league tables by value for Q1-Q3 2010, having advised on a total of USD99.6bn worth of deals. Abernathy MacGregor Group was the US’s most active adviser, topping the volume table with 73 deals worth USD42.1bn. Kekst was the runner up by both value and volume, with 70 deals worth USD68bn.

In Asia Pacific ex-Japan, FD has topped the league tables by both value and volume in the region advising on 37 deals worth a total of USD32.6bn in Q1-Q3 2010. Brunswick followed close behind with USD30.1bn worth of deals, leaving a USD17bn lead over third placed Finsbury Group.
