Business Growth Hub, part of Manchester Growth Company (MGC), has appointed Tanya Hemphill as Growth Start-Up Manager.
Hemphill will manage the Hub’s established team of business start-up advisors, who give entrepreneurs in the region the tools they need to set up and grow their own businesses through one-to-one support and specialist masterclasses.
Hemphill has previously worked in senior roles in communications and digital marketing, which most recently includes three years as Senior Lecturer and Programme Leader in Public Relations at the University of Chester, where she worked with business owners on knowledge transfer projects.
Hemphill says: “Growing a business from an initial idea into a successful company is extremely challenging and, while entrepreneurial edge and innovation is abundant in Greater Manchester, individuals sometimes find they are unable to realise their ambitions without guidance from people that have been in their shoes. The Hub has a strong history of providing entrepreneurs with the support they need to turn ideas into successful businesses, and I am delighted to have the opportunity to be a part of that process.”
Richard Jeffery, Director of the Business Growth Hub, says: “Our programme has been developed as a response to the growing demand for start-up business support. We’re thrilled that Tanya has come on board, her experience and knowledge in helping organisations engage customers with a clear return on investment is a fantastic asset and we look forward to seeing how the programme develops.”
