Calculus Capital appoints Richard Moore as investment director

Richard Moore has joined the investment team at private equity investor Calculus Capital.

Moore (pictured) joins from Citigroup where he worked from 2005 to 2013, most recently as the head of the European technology (TMT) investment banking team.

Moore, who qualified as a Chartered Accountant with KPMG, has wide-ranging industry expertise having also worked at Flemings and JP Morgan. He brings with him over 14 years of experience advising on private equity investments, buy-side and sell-side M&A mandates, public equity and debt offerings, and leveraged buy outs in the UK, Europe, US and Asia.

Moore is the third new addition to Calculus’s investment team in nine months. Rick Jones, a director at Rothschild for 13 years, also joined as an investment director in September 2012 and Roshan Puri was hired as an investment associate in February 2013, after qualifying as a Chartered Accountant with Ernst and Young.

Calculus Capital’s range of Enterprise Investment Schemes (EIS) and Venture Capital Trusts (VCTs) invest GBP2m to GBP5m in UK companies with proven management teams and a successful product or service across all sectors.

Susan McDonald, chairman of Calculus Capital, says: “EIS is playing a key role in supporting Entrepreneurial British companies that face challenges in accessing expansion capital. The fact that we have attracted people of the calibre of Rick and Richard reflects both our solid track record and the tremendous opportunities in the market.”
