Campbell Lutyens appoints ex-Hungarian PM as CEO 

Global private markets advisor Campbell Lutyens has appointed Gordon Bajnai as CEO, effective 1 September. Bajnai succeeds Andrew Sealey, who has been CEO since 2003, having first joined the business back in 1990. 

Sealey will become Chairman, while John Campbell, one of the founders of the firm, will continue as Emeritus Chairman.

Bajnai was initially an advisory director for Campbell Lutyens before joining in an executive capacity in 2017. In 2019, he became Partner, Global Head of Infrastructure and oversaw the firm’s global infrastructure and energy transition practice. In his new role, he will retain responsibility for said practice.

Bajnai is also currently a member of the board of directors at the Pacific Pension Institute, Vice Chairman of the board at GlobSec and a member of the European Council on Foreign Relations.

He has also served as Chairman of Budapest Airport, as an advisor for Antin Infrastructure, Aegon Insurance, as a director for Rába plc and Zwack Unicum, and on the investment committee of the European Fund for Strategic Investments.

Prior to Campbell Lutyens, Bajnai was Group COO of Meridiam Infrastructure; CEO of the Wallis Group; and deputy CEO of CA IB Securities, a Central European investment bank.
Bajnai served as Prime Minister of Hungary in 2009 and 2010, prior to which he was Minister of Regional Development and Minister of Economy and National Development.

Campbell Lutyens provides fund placement, secondary advisory and GP capital advisory services to fund managers and institutional investors. The firm works across private equity, infrastructure, private credit and sustainable investing, operating from offices in London, Paris, Munich, New York, Los Angeles, Chicago, Charlotte, Singapore, Hong Kong, Seoul, Tokyo and Melbourne.
