The Canada Pension Plan Investment Board has promoted Caitlin Gubbels, its managing director and head of private equity funds, to senior managing director and global head of private equity, effective 15 October, according to a report by Ai-CIO.
Gubbels, who joins the pension fund’s senior management team, succeeds Suyi Kim, who will leave CPPIB after 17 years to seek new global investment leadership opportunities.
Gubbels will lead CPPIB’s global private equity programme and will oversee the investment teams dedicated to direct private equity investments, private equity in Asia, as well as private equity funds and secondaries.
In a statement, John Graham, President and CEO of CPPIB, said: “[Suyi] opened our Hong Kong office in 2008, establishing our presence in the Asia Pacific region, and most recently led our private equity business globally out of Toronto and New York.”
