Cantilever Group, a specialist investor in middle-market GP stakes, has appointed private equity veteran Randy Ralph to its Advisory Board, bringing decades of fund evaluation and financial services experience to the firm as it continues to scale its platform.
Ralph, who has over 30 years of experience in private equity, credit, and fund investing, is currently a board member at Xylem/Kendall, a Sterling Investment Partners portfolio company, and holds advisory roles at Audax Strategic Capital and Vance Street Capital. Until earlier this year, he also advised Houlihan Lokey’s Private Funds Group.
The bulk of Ralph’s career was spent at Northwestern Mutual Capital, where he served as Managing Director in the Private Equity Funds group. Over a 21-year tenure, he evaluated and underwrote more than 250 investments across primary fund commitments, co-investments, fixed income, and secondary strategies, having begun his career with investment and lending roles at ING Investment Management (now Voya) and Mellon Bank.
Cantilever, backed by BTG Pactual and Broadhaven, provides flexible minority capital to alternative, traditional, and wealth asset managers with $500m to $5m in AUM. The firm’s GP stakes strategy includes capital for growth, succession planning, seed funding, and founder liquidity.
