Carbon Hub, a developer of carbon management web solutions, has closed its first financing round by raising EUR1m from Seventure Partners – a subsidiary of Natixis Private Equity – and Business Angels.
Carbon Hub provide software solutions and supporting services to help private companies and public sector organisations reduce their environmental footprint.
The Carbon Hub platform provides organisations with a complete solution to measure, manage, report on, and mitigate greenhouse gas emissions across complex environments. It enables stakeholders to identify and implement carbon reduction opportunities while reaping the financial benefits of streamlined operations.
With this successful financing, Carbon Hub is now able to accelerate the development of its platform and to consolidate its position on the European market.
Ronan Kerouedan, founder of Carbon Hub, says: “We now have the means to fulfil our ambitions to transform Carbon Hub into the market leader of sustainability management solutions.”
Olivier Protard, partner at Seventure, adds: “I am really excited about this investment as Carbon Hub meets the real needs of many organisations by combining a web 2.0 approach and a set of easy-to-use modules to help them reduce their carbon footprint.”
According to a report by London-based analyst Verdantix, the carbon management software industry will start to boom by 2011, rising from USD120m that year to USD250m in 2012 as companies realise that spreadsheets and utility bills — the most common way to calculate carbon footprints — are ineffective and difficult to use, especially in complex environments.
