Carlyle appoints new Head of Global Capital Markets

Carlyle Group has appointed Matt Savino as its new Head of Global Capital Markets following the departure of Brian Lindley who held the role for over seven years of his more than 13-year stint with the company, according to a report by Pensions & Investments.

The report cites unnamed sources familiar with the matter as confirming that staff were informed at ten end of last month that Savino, who is based in New York, will be taking on the role.

Lindley, who was based in London, is renowned for establishing Carlyle’s global capital markets group and overseeing teams in both the UK capital and New York.

Before leading Carlyle’s capital markets group, which syndicates loan and bond offerings for portfolio companies, Lindley was a partner in the firm’s Europe buyout group.

Savino joined Carlyle in 2017 as head of US capital markets. Prior to that, he served as global head of alternatives sourcing and co-head of global capital markets at BlackRock. His experience also includes roles in leveraged finance at Barclays and Lehman Brothers.
