Citigroup has appointed seasoned investment banker John LaVoie, who has 24 years of experience working with buyout firms to lead its private equity M&A division for the US West Coast, according to a report by Reuters citing an internal memo.
LaVoie, whol will be based in San Francisco, will report to Michael Marcus and Michael Quadrino, Co-Heads of Citi’s global asset managers unit in North America.
LaVoie joins Citigroup from Wells Fargo, where he was responsible for expanding the bank’s private equity M&A business on the West Coast. His prior experience includes roles at JPMorgan Chase and RBC Capital Markets, where he advised on numerous transactions involving private equity clients.
A Citi spokesperson confirmed the contents of the memo.
