Citigroup Inc has appointed Robin Rousseau and Barry Weir as co-heads of the company’s mergers and acquisitions business in Europe, the Middle East and Africa, according to a report by Bloomberg, with the pair replacing Alison Harding-Jones who is leaving the business.
The report cites an internal memo as revealing that Rousseau, who joined from Deutsche Bank AG in 2020, will remain in Paris, and Weir, a JPMorgan Chase & Co veteran who moved to Citigroup last year, will remain based in London.
According to his LinkedIn profile, Rousseau, has been a vice chairman of Citigroup’s EMEA investment bank, and previously led M&A for the region at Deutsche Bank. Earlier in his career, he also served as a managing director at Goldman Sachs Group Inc.
According to Weir’s LinkedIn profile, he was most recently a managing director on Citigroup’s UK investment banking team, having previously led UK M&A at JPMorgan, where he worked for more than two decades.
