Cole-Frieman & Mallon (CFM), an investment management law firm, has appointed Garret Filler as a partner. Filler comes to CFM after most recently serving as President of Allometrics, a startup at the intersection of gaming and finance.
Cole-Frieman & Mallon (CFM), an investment management law firm, has appointed Garret Filler as a partner. Filler comes to CFM after most recently serving as president of Allometrics, a startup at the intersection of gaming and finance.
Prior to that, Filler worked in the asset management practice of two large international law firms and at several of the world’s foremost private fund managers, including Citadel, D E Shaw, and for nearly a decade as general counsel and chief compliance officer of Ellington Management Group. During his professional career, Filler served on the Hedge Fund Advisory Council of the Managed Funds Association (the MFA) and as the MFA’s representative on the Global Documentation Steering Committee of the Federal Reserve Bank of New York.
At CFM, Filler will be working on the formation and launch of hedge funds, private equity funds, and venture capital funds and their managers; providing advice regarding registration, compliance issues, and regulatory inquiries and examinations; and assisting clients in respect of transactions, trading and credit agreements, and employee matters.
