Private capital secondary market investor Coller Capital, and international law firm Akin Gump have hosted their first quarterly Women in Secondaries networking event for 2022, a fireside chat with Priya Lakhani OBE.
Lakhani is a serial entrepreneur who has founded a food business, a social enterprise and now leads CENTURY Tech, a company developing, for use in the education sector, the latest artificial intelligence (AI) and big data technology to understand how the brain learns.
Lakhani’s session discussed the background to her career and various businesses, the cutting-edge work her company is carrying out and the lessons for training and education. She spoke about her entrepreneurial experiences, especially as a non-technical person running a tech business, and drilled into themes of perseverance and resilience in succeeding in any field.
She also considered leadership, diversity, talent and culture within organisations and spoke about the approach to strategic and successful networking.
Coller Capital and Akin Gump’s Women in Secondaries Network was launched in December 2020 and seeks to empower, promote and support women working in the secondaries industry through quarterly networking and knowledge-sharing events for industry peers and contacts.
