Consonance Capital Management promotes Kevin Pyun to Partner

Consonance Capital Management, a public equity investor in the healthcare industry, has appointed Kevin Pyun as Partner and Director of Research.

Pyun, who has been with Consonance Capital Management since 2008, is actively involved in every facet of the firm’s core investment process, focusing most heavily on the due diligence surrounding both new and existing portfolio positions across all healthcare subsectors. He is also responsible for managing the analytical efforts of the broader investment team.
The announcement comes after continued growth for Consonance Capital Management and represents a further commitment to providing best-in-class investment opportunities in publicly traded healthcare securities.
“Kevin is a highly valued member of our team and will continue to be a tremendous asset as we continue to strengthen our investment platform,” says Dr Mitchell Blutt, CEO of Consonance Capital and CIO and Co-Portfolio Manager of Consonance Capital Management. “His academic and industry experience, including a decade at Consonance, make him an ideal fit as Partner.”
“Kevin’s multi-year contribution to Consonance makes this a well-deserved promotion.  Kevin’s investment acumen, professionalism and leadership skills will serve our firm well in the coming years,” says Dr Benny Soffer, Partner and Co-Portfolio Manager at Consonance Capital Management.
Pyun joined Consonance Capital in 2008 and served as the fund’s primary investment analyst from 2008-2015 when he began broadening his responsibilities. Prior to joining Consonance, he spent two years evaluating biotechnology companies as an equity research analyst at Morgan Stanley. Before his work at Morgan Stanley, he spent three years at LEK Consulting, providing strategic advisory services to the firm’s life sciences clients.
“I am honoured to be the first individual to be promoted to Partner at Consonance Capital since our inception,” says Pyun. “I look forward to continuing my work with the remarkable team at Consonance to identify dislocations and resulting opportunities across public equity markets during this transformational era for the healthcare sector.”
