Carlyle and HGGC lead $500m insurance broker investment

PCF Insurance Services, a top 20 US insurance brokerage firm, has secured a $500 million preferred equity investment in a transaction co-led by Carlyle’s Global Credit platform and private equity firm HGGC, an existing minority investor, which values the business at $4.7 billion. 

Stone Point to buy 20% stake in US insurance broker

Finastra, a London-based fintech owned by technology focused private investment firm Vista Equity Partners, is exploring a possible sale of its banking unit in a deal that could be worth as much as $7 billion, according to a report by Reuters.

TPG in talks for Malaysian education group

TPG is at an advanced stage of negations on a deal to acquire Asia Pacific Education Holdings, a provider of tertiary education in Malaysia, from buyout firm KV Asia Capital in a deal that could be worth more than $300 million, according to a report by Reuters.

BlackRock has acquired a majority stake in Environmental 360 Solutions, a waste management services company in Canada, for an undisclosed sum, via its BlackRock Global Infrastructure Fund IV fund, from Almada, OPSEU Pension Plan Trust Fund, and Oaktree Capital Management.

SFI makes Tikehau investment

SFI, a subsidiary of Patrinvest, is to make an equity investment of €400 million in Tikehau Capital SCA, a global alternative asset management group with €38.8 billion of assets under management, majority owned by Tickehau Capital Advisors. 

Investcorp acquires cloud specialist

Global technology investor Investcorp Technology Partners, is to acquire a majority stake in NetRom Software (NetRom), a cloud-first, digital transformation and software engineering firm from the company’s founders, management team and previous investor IceLake Capital, who will all maintain a stake in the business.

Avedon creates major Netherlands MSP

Avedon Capital Partners has made simultaneous acquisitions of ICT service providers Detron and Zetacom and will combine the businesses to create one of the Netherlands’ largest independent managed services providers, with over 600 employees. 

HIG Capital buys beauty products platform

HIG Capital, a global private equity investment firm with $54 billion of equity capital under management, has acquired a controlling stake in Pinalli, a distribution platform for beauty & personal care products. 

ARC Group makes NYC move

ARC Group, a specialist in M&A and capital markets advisory services, is establishing a presence in New York City through the acquisition of a controlling stake in US-based private equity and advisory firm Luminous Capital.

Hicks to exit drilling firm through SPAC deal

Drilling Tools International, an oilfield services firm which builds and rents out drilling equipment for oil and gas companies, is to list in New York after agreeing to merge with special purpose acquisition company ROC Energy Acquisition Corp, according to a report by Reuters.
