Cordium, a provider of regulatory compliance consulting, software, accounting and tax services to the asset management and securities industry, has appointed Lusine Moshkounian (pictured) as Vice President.
Moshkounian has over 17 years of experience in compliance and has joined Cordium as Vice President of its compliance consulting division in San Francisco.
Moshkounian’s role will see her helping investment managers successfully implement and maintain a comprehensive compliance program unique to each firm’s size, structure, and client base. Her clients include managers of hedge funds, private equity/venture capital funds, and other private funds as well as traditional investment advisers providing discretionary and non-discretionary advisory services to individuals, pension plans, registered investment companies, and other clients both directly and via sub-advisory relationships with other advisers. More specifically, Moshkounian will play a key role in enhancing Cordium’s Mock Audit service which assists advisers in preparing for a potential future audit by mimicking a typical SEC or NFA exam.
Moshkounian was most recently Chief Compliance Officer and Legal Counsel of Legato Capital Management LLC, an SEC registered investment adviser. Prior to that, for over seven years, she was an Attorney-Adviser and a Branch Chief in the San Francisco and Los Angeles Offices’ Investment Adviser/Investment Company examination program at the SEC. Previously, Moshkounian was an Associate in the Investment Management Practice Group at Morgan, Lewis and Bockius, LLP. She has also served as a senior compliance analyst of Bank of America’s retail broker-dealer division and as an examiner at FINRA.
Bill Mulligan, CEO at Cordium US, says: “We are delighted to welcome Lusine to the Cordium team. She brings with her a wealth of compliance and legal experience that we envisage her utilising to develop and grow our consulting business in the US.”
Lusine holds a BA in History from the University of California, Irvine, a JD, cum laude, from Tulane Law School as well as a Master of Laws in Banking and Financial Law from Boston University Law School.
Cordium is spearheading the global drive to help firms create a culture of compliance where the process of meeting regulatory demands goes beyond fulfilling obligations and can make a positive contribution in the journey towards business excellence. This turns compliance from a ‘have-to-have’ into a ‘must-have’ competitive advantage.
