Holland & Knight has expanded its Private Equity Team with the addition of Alvin Johnson as partner in the firm’s Atlanta office.
Johnson represents private equity firms and the world’s leading companies in a wide variety of domestic and cross-border transactions. He was previously an associate with DLA Piper.
“Alvin’s significant experience advising private equity clients and strong focus on client service are a perfect fit for our corporate and private equity practices,” says David Barkus, co-head of Holland & Knight’s Corporate, M&A and Securities Practice Group and head of the firm’s Private Equity Team. “We are fortunate that Alvin is bringing his considerable legal talents to our team as we are experiencing a sustained increase in the volume of private equity-related matters nationwide. In response, we have added more than 20 attorneys nationwide to our private equity practice this year, with an intentional effort to recruit talented lawyers who are also diverse.”
“Throughout his career, Alvin has demonstrated an entrepreneurial spirit that will serve both him and our office well,” says Woody Vaughan, executive partner of Holland & Knight’s Atlanta office. “Alvin’s arrival is part of the Atlanta office’s ongoing strategic expansion. He has an impressive deal sheet and many meaningful connections within the Atlanta area. He’s everything we want in a partner.”
“This is a unique opportunity to join a strong team and work alongside former colleagues and friends that I admire,” says Johnson. “I was drawn to the supportive environment and career possibilities at Holland & Knight and I plan to become a pivotal member of its private equity and corporate practices.”
Johnson earned a JD degree from Emory University School of Law and BA and MBA degrees from Florida A&M University.
