Cortland to administer Singerman fund

Cortland Fund Services has been chosen by Singerman Real Estate to administer the firm’s private equity real estate fund, Singerman Real Estate Opportunity Fund I (SRE Fund I).

Cortland will provide fund accounting, investor servicing, and other middle and back-office support and service for the Chicago-based investment firm’s fund.

SRE Fund I is an opportunistic real estate fund focused on maximising risk-adjusted returns through investments in both debt and equity with a national footprint.

“Cortland’s experience and expertise working with real estate funds is proving to be a valuable resource to the SRE team and our investors,” says SRE’s chief financial officer Charlie Kellogg. “Our strategy is to continue to find the right mix of opportunities in direct property investments, operating companies, and real estate loans to create a diversified portfolio for our investors. Having Cortland as a partner allows us to accelerate our strategy and focus on building the business.”

“We have been very pleased to work with Seth, Charlie and the professionals at SRE,” says Dan Hart (pictured), managing director of Cortland. “Third-party administration of private equity real estate funds is becoming the standard practice for funds sponsored by firms such as SRE. Our services bring transparency to investors and allow SRE to focus on what they do best. We believe the breadth of expertise at Cortland administering real estate funds, limited partners, and the unique investment structures inherent to real estate will provide a perfect solution for SRE Fund I.”
